Star Training & Assessing is Worksafe accredited to deliver forklift training and assessment in WA. The course is aligned with industry requirements and is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience a broad range of workplace situations. The length of the course varies and is suitable for experienced operators, as well as those with limited or no forklift operating experience.
Course content includes relevant Australian standards, legislation and regulations, hazard identification and hazard prevention, manufacturer’s specifications and instructions, conduct routine checks and plan work, forklift attachments, safe operation, shift load, shut down equipment and secure site.
Knowledge Assessment – Includes a written and mathematical assessment.
Practical Assessment – Hazard identification and hazard prevention, conduct pre-operational checks (visual forklift inspection), conduct post- start checks and the safe operation of the forklift, handling loads, moving loads from different locations and heights, shutting down and securing the forklift.
Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, documentary evidence and proof of age is required before course commencement.
Participants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language and basic numeracy skills to complete the written and mathematical assessment.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ stating the unit achieved and also a ‘Notice of Assessment’ which will immediately entitle you to operate a forklift until you receive your ‘High Risk Licence’. You must submit your application to Worksafe within 60 days of completing the course.
