Practical Assessment – Hazard identification and hazard prevention, conduct pre-operational checks, conduct post- start checks, safe operation of the EWP, practical obstacle course, advanced obstacle operation and shutting down and securing the EWP.
Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, documentary evidence and proof of age is required before course commencement.
Participants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language and basic numeracy skills to complete the written and mathematical assessment.
Face to face delivery. Current Work Health and Safety (QLD) legislation requires operators of (HRW) High Risk Work licence to complete formal theory and practical training. Once formal training is completed, informal training (logged experience operating the machine), including 40 nominal hours is then required under direct supervision. After these hours have been completed and verified by your supervisor/trainer, Star Training & Assessing must be notified to arrange the final written and practical assessment.
Work Health and Safety (QLD) require three working days’ notice of all assessments.
Upon successful completion of the practical assessment, you will need to submit an application to Work Health & Safety in person at an Australia Post outlet, within 60 days of successfully completing the practical assessment. You will need to retain the AS1 and receipt from Australia Post as evidence that you can lawfully perform work in the WP (Elevated Work Platform) class of high risk, until your photographic HRW Licence arrives in the post.
On-site at your workplace, or alternatively a suitable training venue can be organised.
Two days plus assessment (some participants may require only half a day, depending on their experience)
