Star Training & Assessing is Worksafe accredited to deliver EWP training and assessment in WA. This nationally recognised unit of competency is designed to provide students with the ability to operate an elevated work platform (EWP) safely and arm them with the knowledge and skills required to obtain a ‘National High Risk Work License, Class WP’. The national guidelines stipulate a WP licence is required for the use of all types of elevated work platforms with a boom reach of 11 metres and above.
Knowledge Assessment – Includes a written and mathematical assessment. Study guides will be sent to participants prior to the course.
Practical Assessment – Hazard identification and hazard prevention, conduct pre-operational checks, conduct post- start checks, safe operation of the EWP, practical obstacle course, advanced obstacle operation and shutting down and securing the EWP.
Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, documentary evidence and proof of age is required before course commencement.
Participants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language and basic numeracy skills to complete the written and mathematical assessment.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued with a ‘statement of attainment’ stating the unit achieved and also a ‘notice of assessment’ which will immediately entitle you to operate an EWP until you receive your ‘High Risk Licence’. You must submit your application to Worksafe within 60 days of completing the course.
Face to face delivery. On-site at your workplace, or alternatively a suitable training venue can be organised.
One or two days, depending on experience.
