Elevated Work Platform

Operate Elevated Work Platform RIIHAN301D 

This nationally recognised unit is designed for people who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate an elevated work platform (EWP) such as a scissor lift or a boom-type elevated work platform with a boom length of less than 11 metres where a “High Risk Work Licence” is not required.

This course fulfils the requirement to show proof of competency in the operation of various types of Elevated Work Platforms such as:

BL – Self-Propelled Boom-Type EWP’s (with a capacity of less than 11m)

SL – Scissor Lifts

VL – Vertical Lifts

Course Content Includes:

• Hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
• Fall arrest harness inspection, fitting and use
• Identify safe operating parameters using data plate and manual
• Conduct pre and post operational checks
• Operation of EWP
• Emergency procedure

Delivery Methods

To obtain accreditation in this course, participants will be assessed using a short-answer theory test, and a practical component involving pre-operational checks, setup, use, and stowing of elevated work platforms.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal pre-requisites, however participants must have basic English skills.

Outcome

A statement of attainment and photo ID card will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

Location

On-site at your workplace, or alternatively a suitable training venue can be organised.
