This nationally recognised unit incorporates HLTAID001 ‘Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation’ and HLTAID002 ‘Provide Basic Emergency Life Support’ and is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills to respond and support a person experiencing illness or injury until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Content includes assessing an emergency situation, legal and social responsibilities of the first aider, apply CPR, management of external bleeding, management of poisoning, bites and stings, shock, stroke, management of seizures, managing anaphylaxis, managing asthma, identifying and managing shock, and diabetes.
Face to face delivery. Participants are required to complete both a practical and theory assessment. The practical assessment includes ‘Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation’ (CPR) and the use of an AED (defibrillator), practical demonstration.
There are no formal prerequisites, but you must have basic English skills
A first aider pocket card and statement of attainment will be given upon successful completion of the course. This qualification is valid for 3 years.

This nationally recognised unit is designed to provide participants with basic life support measures in an emergency situation and incorporates the CPR component, management of an emergency situation bleeding, attending to a casualty and/or preventing a casualty from going into shock.
This nationally recognised unit is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings.
Topics include the legal and social responsibilities of a first aider, evaluating the incident, treatment of shock and bleeding apply rescue breathing and CPR.
Face to face delivery. Participants are required to complete a practical demonstration for the assessment.
There are no formal prerequisites, however participants must have basic English skills.
A statement of attainment will be given upon successful completion of the course.
