Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck TLILIC0003

Star Training & Assessing is Worksafe accredited to deliver forklift training and assessment in VIC. The course is aligned with industry requirements and is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience a broad range of workplace situations. The length of the course varies and is suitable for experienced operators, as well as those with limited or no forklift operating experience.

Course content includes relevant Australian standards, legislation and regulations, hazard identification and hazard prevention, manufacturer’s specifications and instructions, conduct routine checks and plan work, forklift attachments, safe operation, shift load, shut down equipment and secure site.

National Assessment Criteria

Knowledge Assessment – Includes a closed book written and mathematical assessment. Study guides will be sent to participants prior to the course.

Practical Assessment – Hazard identification and hazard prevention, conduct pre-operational checks (visual forklift inspection), conduct post- start checks and the safe operation of the forklift, handling loads, moving loads from different locations and heights, shutting down and securing the forklift.

Pre-requisites

Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, documentary evidence and proof of age is required before course commencement.

Participants must reside in Victoria

Participants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language and basic numeracy skills to complete the written and mathematical assessment.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with an electronic copy of ‘Statement of Attainment’ and a forklift ‘Notice of Assessment’ (L2 form) which you then need to take to an Australia Post outlet along with a $64 payment, 100 points of ID (Australian ID) and passport photo. The five year licence will then be sent by WorkSafe Victoria, which you should receive within approximately 3 weeks of lodgement.
