Work Safely at Heights RIIWHS204D

This nationally recognised unit is designed to provide participants currently working or intending to work at heights in VIC, with the knowledge and skills to safely work in any height situation. The course is primarily aimed at general construction, maintenance, mining, large factories or other work situations. The course content includes occupational health and safety awareness, identifying and controlling hazards, fall arrest and fall restraint systems and equipment selection and use.

Course Outline

  • General legislative requirements
  • Identify, eliminate and control hazards
  • Fall arrest and fall restraint systems
  • Equipment selection and use
  • Anchor systems, installing solid and reliable anchorage
  • Using ladders and work platforms (scaffolds and EWP’s)
  • Relevant Australian standards and codes of practice

Delivery Method

Face to face delivery. This highly practical course is delivered over one day and can be undertaken on-site, provided specific requirements are met, or at a suitable training venue.

Pre-requisite / Entry Requirement

There are no prerequisites for this course, However participants must have basic English skills.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course, all participants receive a wallet card and an electronic copy of statement of attainment.
