Our Confined Space Refresher Course and Confined Space Recue / Breathing Apparatus Refresher Course is available to students who already successfully completed their initial training and hold a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

Students must present their original Statement of Attainment and/or USI Transcript, showing that they hold the Units of Competency they wish to refresh.

Australian Standard AS2865 Confined spaces states that Persons shall be reassessed at appropriate intervals to ensure their ongoing competency to perform activities relevant to their entry and work associated with confined spaces. This can be every 12-24 months depending on the industry, company polies or the scope and frequency of the Confined Space work.

This course is structured with one or two half day sessions and students can book one or two sessions accordingly.

Session 1 – (8AM SESSION)

Confined Space Refresher Course

To qualify for this refresher course students MUST present a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript for RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces, or equivalent.

This refresher course is based on the following units of competency –

RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces
MSMPER205 – Enter confined space
MSMPER200 – Work in accordance with an issued permit
MSMWHS217 – Gas test atmospheres

Session 2 – (12: 30PM SESSION)

Confined Space Rescue / Breathing Apparatus Refresher Course

To qualify for this refresher course students MUST present a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript for PUASAR025 – Undertake confined space rescue, or equivalent and MSMWHS216 – Operate breathing apparatus, or equivalent

This refresher course is based on the following units of competency –

PUASAR025 – Undertake confined space rescue
MSMWHS216 – Operate breathing apparatus

Delivery Method

Face to face delivery. Assessment includes a short knowledge assessment followed by a practical assessment.

Pre-requisites / Entry Requirements

For the Confined Space Refresher Course –

Students MUST present a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript for:

RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces, or equivalent.

For the Confined Space Rescue / Breathing Apparatus Refresher Course –

Students MUST present a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript for:

PUASAR025 – Undertake confined space rescue, or equivalent, and;
MSMWHS216 – Operate breathing apparatus, or equivalent

For the Breathing Apparatus component of this course, participants MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN. Participants who arrive for their course and are not clean shaven may be turned away.

Trainees should be aware that this course is physically demanding, requiring a substantial amount of crawling, climbing, bending and lifting.

Participants must be able to converse and comprehend basic English.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive an electronic copy of your Statement of Attainment. You will also receive a PDF Digital Card. Please save this to your device.

The Statement of Attainment will only list the units in which the student already holds as part of the refresher training.
