What is RPL?
This process is called Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and is all about showcasing the relevant transferable skills and experience you have already gained through previous work and life experiences and applying these to the new course you plan to study.
RPL must be processed tat the beginning of your course with a registered training provider.
If you are thinking of a career change – you may already be more qualified than you think! Many courses in similar industries have modules that crossover.
For example, in the trades industry courses always involve Work Health & Safety modules; the chances are if you have completed a similar module on another course, this will be recognised as meaning you are competent to not have to repeat this module again in your new course.
Does RPL apply to me?
An easy way to do this is to ensure your resume is up to date with all of your qualifications and work experience and send to your training provider who will assess if you are able to apply for RPL.
