According to The Occupational Safety and Health Regulation, manual handling means ‘any activity requiring the use of force exerted by a person to lift, power, push, pull, carry or otherwise move, hold or restrain a person, animal or thing.’
How can the risk of workplace injuries be reduced?
The outcomes of a manual-handling course aim to:
- Minimise the risk of injury
- Knowing strategies to implement and utilise to improve workplace organisation
- Gain an understanding of the human body and its limitations when it comes to physical work
- Learn how to stretch to reduce the risk of injury
When employees are safer, any injuries that do occur are likely to be less serious.
